SWSE Play It Forward is launching a new funding initiative aimed at supporting rural sports programs across the Sudbury District. This program is designed to address challenges faced by remote communities in accessing sports opportunities and resources.

In an effort to ensure inclusivity and equal access to sports, SWSE Play It Forward has announced a new funding initiative dedicated to rural communities in the Sudbury District. This program will provide financial support to schools, clubs, and community centers to enhance sports facilities, purchase equipment, and offer training opportunities.

‘We recognize that rural communities often face unique challenges when it comes to access to sports,’ said a spokesperson for SWSE Play It Forward. ‘This initiative is a step toward leveling the playing field and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate in sports, regardless of where they live.’

Applications for the program are now open, with priority given to projects that demonstrate a clear commitment to fostering inclusion and community engagement. The first round of funding will be allocated this spring, and updates on the selected programs will be shared through the foundation’s website and social media channels.

This initiative marks another milestone in SWSE Play It Forward’s mission to create stronger communities through sports and wellness.
